PHOTOGRAPHER

Having said that, my favourite subjects are landscapes, travel and macro. The people who inspire me the most would have to be Scott Kelby for his huge body of photographic writing, Joe Cornish (don't think this needs justifcation) and Joe McNally for his inspirational outlook on the business side of photography.

I first picked up a camera 8 years ago and never looked back. As is the case with most photographers, I initially felt the need to brand myself a certain type of photographer, wanting to establish myself as a fanatic of 1 type of subject, drawing inspiration from a limited number of well known names and wanting to imitate those few. Since then however I'm happy to simply say that I'm just a photographer, enthusiastic about turining my camera on anything I like the look of.

As well as shooting pictures, I also spend my time writing about photography. I'm Editor and publisher of ShutterLogic Magazine, a free publication for all photographers, addressing the reasons we take images and how this influences the success of our photos.

I also recently wrote a FREE ebook full of handy in-the-field photo tips that I've found useful over the years. You can read it over there ----------->

When I'm not using a camera and scribbling about it in books and magazines, I create things. Anything. These days you can produce pro-looking illustrations and graphics with just the software you already own. I love improvising and experimenting, frequently using nothing but ©Photoshop. Using only the resources available to you forces you to be creative, which is all gooood...
