Assorted heathland grasses

The wet soils of Wanister Bog provide an ideal habitat for a range of grasses, notably Molinia caerulea (purple moorgrass), Deschampsia cespitosa (tufted hair-grass), and Eriophorum angustifolium (cotton grass.). The species found here are generally arranged according to soil wetness, conforming to optimal growing conditions for each grass.
