Gorse and Bracken management

Cutting is a technique frequently used to control populations of Bracken and Gorse on Waldridge Fell. At site N4 this management strategy can be easily seen in progress, in an effort to reduce stress on the Calluna, which is present in varying stages of maturity. This provides time and space for healthy establishment of this key heathland component.
