Juncus is a genus of rushes; herbaceous plants that are commonly found growing in wet habitats. There are a variety of Juncus species at Waldridge, including J. effusus (Soft Rush - as found in abundance at Site S6)

and J. inflexus (Hard Rush.)

 

Due to their affinity for poorly drained areas, Juncus sp. are

prominent in the Valley Mire habitat at Wanister Bog
